BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE -- BY APPROACHING IT REFLECTIVELY

Welcome to "Know Your Bible" on Truth and Life Radio, where we reveal the timeless truths of Scripture in ways that are relevant, powerful, and transformative. This program is designed to deepen your understanding of God's Word and strengthen your faith, with the goal of eradicating biblical illiteracy, which often hinders spiritual growth. Together, as a community, we lift up the Word of God as the only authentic, reliable, and authoritative guide for the Christian faith, fact-checking all submissions claiming to be from God.

In today's lesson, we focus on "Approaching the Bible Reflectively." a topic essential for understanding God's Word deeply. Reflective Bible study requires engaging with the Scripture beyond mere reading, pausing to meditate on each verse, and allowing God's Word to penetrate our hearts and minds. Just as John, a young man passionate about history, discovered that the Bible is more than just stories—it is the living Word of God meant to transform lives—we, too, must approach it with reverence and reflection. Through examples like Joshua, who meditated on the Word day and night, and the Bereans, who diligently examined the Scriptures daily, we see how a reflective approach can lead to profound understanding and spiritual growth.

Reflective Bible study involves principles such as prayerful preparation, contextual understanding, and personal application. Before diving into Scripture, we should ask God to open our eyes to the truths hidden within His Word (Psalm 119:18). We must also consider the historical and cultural context of each passage to avoid misinterpretation (2 Timothy 2:15). Finally, we should reflect on how the Word applies to our lives, allowing it to lead us to transformative decisions, just as the Prodigal Son did in Luke 15:11-32. May we, like the Bereans, diligently examine God's Word, allowing it to shape and guide our lives.
