CHRISTIAN DUTY - 1

Ed Davis’ reflection on Christian service and what God expects from His children touches on some profound themes. Indeed, many Christians believe that being saved entails a commitment to serve God and others, emphasizing the idea that faith should be active and expressed through actions.

Expectations from God:

Listening and Obedience: God desires that Christians listen to Jesus. This is rooted in the belief that Jesus embodies the fullness of God's revelation. Being attentive to His teachings and commands is foundational for living a life aligned with God's will.

Being Born Again: The concept of being "born again" is vital in Christian doctrine. It signifies a spiritual rebirth and transformation, allowing believers to enter into a new relationship with God, enabling them to live according to His purposes.

Love: Jesus highlighted love as the greatest commandment, both for God and for others (Matthew 22:37-39). This love should manifest in daily interactions, fostering community and support among believers.

Worship: Regular worship is essential for Christians, as it provides a means to connect with God, express gratitude, and seek guidance. This can include communal worship in churches and personal devotion.

Evangelism: Sharing the message of the Gospel is a key expectation. Christians are called to spread the good news and share their faith with others, making disciples and serving as witnesses to God’s work in their lives.

In essence, Ed Davis’s view emphasizes that understanding and fulfilling God’s expectations can lead to a richer, more meaningful Christian life, where service becomes a natural outflow of faith.
