In our series on “Basic Understanding of the Bible,” today’s lesson focuses on “Approaching the Bible with the Right Attitude.” Much like tuning a radio to avoid static, our attitude towards the Bible matters greatly. As 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs, we must diligently study and rightly divide the Word of truth with a disciplined and reverent approach to properly understand and apply its teachings.

Reverence is the first and most important attitude in approaching the Bible. Recognizing Scripture’s divine origin, as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16, is crucial. By acknowledging its authority, as the Israelites and Thessalonians did (1 Thessalonians 2:13), we allow the Bible to guide and transform our lives, equipping us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
